Previously there was only a toilet, with a small wash basin. The customer asked us to install a shower - by enlarging the room on the expense of the adjacent bedroom. It wasn't much space to loose from the bedroom but it added a lot more comfort to the property - now every floor in the house has a shower room.
Firstly, everything was ripped out, partition wall removed and new stud wall partition constructed. Then followed the plumbing works - installation of waste and supply pipes for the shower and small wash basin. We waterproofed the walls inside the shower cubicle - to avoid any damp coming through the ceiling downstairs in the future. Tiling was quite tricky here - porcelain tiles were very hard to drill through or cut and we had to do a lot of that - although the room was quite small. Because of these porcelain tiles the project took a bit longer than estimated - but the result was worth the efforts.
