This was one of our garden projects: we removed old fencing and decking and installed new. The garden became visually bigger and more spacious as a result. Afterwards just a bit of gardening was needed to complete this garden transformation project - a little bit of diy for the customer.
The old decking wasn't done very well - there was no frame, just few 2 by 2 timbers across laid directly on the ground. And the decking boards were flush with the slabs around. There was no good ventilation under the decking and damp was soaking into the base timber - no wonder the old decking was almost completely rotten. New decking now is well raised above the ground - solid structure which will last for many years.
The old fence was built using thin floorboards, no solid posts in between - so the whole fence was wobbly. The new fence is built using concrete posts and gravel boards - no damp coming from the ground will affect the timber fence panels and the posts will never rot. This fence will last for many years to come.
